Lutheran Youth and Young Adults: Nurturing Faith in a Modern World

Undoubtedly, one of the most significant moments in the New Testament is Jesus Christ’s sermon on the mound, where he calls upon us to be peacemakers. In Matthew 5:9, it is written, “Blessed are the peacemaker, for they shall become sons of God.” In today’s world, that seems to be farther and farther removed from the goodness and greatness that was once spoken about at this pivotal moment in time.

So, what are we to do? As followers of Christ, we’re taught to live a life set by his example. And in order to preserve a world in which future generations can flourish and become “fishers of men,” we need to set a good example for them as well. Inside the youth and young adults in our community, there exists a potential for greatness and wisdom. Nurturing it properly so they can go forth into the world to not just be peacemakers but a beacon of light and hope is certainly of the utmost importance.

Youth Ministries

It’s hard to believe that there once was a time when the virtues and teaching of Christ were as much a part of the class curriculum as math, history, and science. And while the separation of church and state is a fundamental part of our democracy, the necessity to ensure that our children grow up knowing the importance of Jesus Christ is essential to the blossoming of the future generation. At Our Savior Lutheran Church, we believe that spiritual growth and our walk with Christ are essential as our youth grow up and mature toward adulthood.

An Age of Wisdom

At Our Savior Lutheran Church, we believe very strongly that growing in the wisdom that Christ bestows on us is essential for a lifetime of joy. This is why our youth ministries are tailored for a wide variety of different age groups. We believe that getting involved with our younger parishioners is what builds strong minds, soft hearts, and a warm and living relationship with Christ, who strengthens us each and every day. This is a lifelong journey; by taking it together, we can build a better world and allow his light to shine.
