Research shows that music education increases children’s cognitive development.

• Preschool: Music is incorporated into the classroom experience through singing, movement, and playing rhythm instruments.
• Elementary: Students recieve music instruction twice a week. In kindergarten through fourth grade students learn music concepts through listening, creating, and performing music. Beginner band class is taught in fifth grade. Students apply music theory learned in previous grades.
• Middle School: Students can choose from playing in the Steel Drum Band, Music Tech, or Choristers Choir.
