Kindergarten – 8th Grade Admissions Policy

At Our Savior Lutheran School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and academically excellent environment for every child. To ensure a fair and consistent admissions process, applicants are evaluated across six key areas: family connection, staff affiliation, church involvement, academic performance, behavioral and social readiness, and school attendance.

Each area is considered to provide a holistic view of a child’s strengths and readiness for success within our school community. This process allows admissions decisions to thoughtfully support both the student and the mission of the school.

Admissions Review Areas:

  • Academic Assessment: Evaluated through entrance assessments, achievement testing, and report card grades.

  • Behavioral/Social Readiness: Consideration is given to behavior, cooperation, peer relationships, respect for authority, and social-emotional readiness.

  • Attendance: Strong school attendance patterns are valued.

  • Church Membership/Affiliation: Active involvement in Our Savior Lutheran Church, another LCMS congregation, or a Christian church is considered.

  • Staff Child: Priority consideration is given to children of full-time and part-time staff members.

  • Sibling Enrollment: Preference is given to students with siblings currently or previously enrolled in good standing.
