CELEBRATE THE ARTS
WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF ART TO SPARK IMAGINATION, GIVE LIFE TO THOUGHT, BREATHE EMOTION INTO MUNDANE EXISTENCE, CREATE DIALOG, AND ADD BEAUTY AND ENJOYMENT TO LIFE.
Our goal is to develop and nurture students’ God-given skills as creators, observers and evaluators through:
2. Critical Thinking and Reflection
3. Skills, Techniques and Processes
4. Organizational Structure
5. Historical and Global Connections, and Innovation
7. Integration in the Local Art Community
Our program consists of a wide-range of disciplines that contain art history, criticism and production, as well as collaboration with local artists and creatives.
The primary goal of our art program is to allow students to nurture a positive self-image by developing self-awareness and self-discipline through visual arts. The teaching of fine art at Our Savior Lutheran School, encourages students to be fluent in thought, flexible in acceptance, creative in experimentation, inventive in their activities, imaginative in their projects and appreciative of others’ work.
To celebrate the lessons and skills taught at school, we open the campus to the community for a DAY in November, during the Celebrate the Arts Event. Our school is hosting visiting artists and creatives with careers in painting, sculpture, opera, culinary arts, dance, writing, floral design, architecture and much more to share their talents and create experiential opportunities for our students.
If you are an Artist and are willing to collaborate with our school and be a part of our Teach-In in November, please contact Natalie Velez firstname.lastname@example.org and/or Tammy Soyka email@example.com, thank you in advanced!
